skylights require special reinforcement design

Leaded glass panels to be used as skylights or glass ceilings require special design and construction to provide the extra reinforcement needed to support leaded glass installed in a horizontal or slanted position.

This picture shows reinforcement bars attached along the top of the skylight panel. These bars are not visible when the panel is installed. Additional measures to create support and durability include internal bracing within the lead matrix and construction techniques known as "lead tucking" and "lead weaving".
